TALK Hong Kong is conducting a review of the state of child sexual abuse (CSA) in Hong Kong with pro bono support from Hong Kong University Law Department and FTI Consulting.
The aim of this project is to provide statistical data and insights on child sexual abuse in Hong Kong to help all stakeholders including the public, educational institutions, government law enforcement and judiciaries, and other NGOs have a clearer picture of the prevalence, impact, and offender statistics. Having updated and well segmented data will assist in targeting more effective plans to better protect children. The project will also identify where there are significant gaps in knowledge so that better data can be planned for in the future.
Data Collection Moving to Analysis Phase
We have requested historical data about childhood sexual abuse from government departments and relevant organizations. The data is now with our pro bono partners FTI Consulting for analysis. You may notice that many departments you would expect to maintain basic data to prevent abuse, do not track information on CSA.
