Founder & Chairperson, TALK Hong Kong
Taura Edgar is the Founder and Chairperson of TALK Hong Kong, a pioneering non-profit dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse and supporting adult survivors.
Since launching the organisation in 2019, Taura has become one of Hong Kong’s leading voices on this critical issue, bringing data, advocacy, prevention training and survivor-centred support to a topic long hidden by stigma.
Under her leadership, TALK Hong Kong has evolved from a small peer-support initiative into a registered charity driving citywide awareness and systemic change.
In December 2025, TALK Hong Kong published the second edition of their groundbreaking report on child sexual abuse in Hong Kong which shows 1 in 6 children in Hong Kong suffer and 96% of it is unreported (Magnitude of Child Sexual Abuse in Hong Kong: Review of Evidence 2015–2024). The comprehensive evidence-based report analyses the prevalence, reporting gaps, and systemic responses to child sexual abuse in Hong Kong, drawing on government, NGO, and academic data to inform prevention and policy reform.
Taura also oversees TALK Hong Kong’s prevention and community training programmes, including Stewards of Children, an evidence-informed course that equips adults to prevent, recognise, and respond appropriately to child sexual abuse.
Her work continues to empower survivors, mobilise communities, and advance Hong Kong’s capacity to protect children.
Taura’s commitment to community impact has been recognised with a 2023 Tatler Front & Female Award for her advocacy on behalf of survivors.
Alongside her charity leadership, Taura is a seasoned digital strategist with over two decades of experience in Hong Kong’s marketing and communications landscape.
She has built digital teams and driven strategy for brands including CNN, Intel, CSL, 7-Eleven, and Waggener Edstrom, and today runs Digital Devotee, her consultancy supporting organisations with digital brand building, SEO, content strategy, and user experience.
